Her line of research covers various topics including cultural history, history of social representations, historical development of cultural institutions and the social function of cinema.

Additionally, he has authored several scientific papers, opinion pieces, and book chapters on the China–Venezuela bilateral relationship, as well as China’s role in contemporary global governance.

Venezuelan sinologist. He studied the history of Chinese culture and classical and modern Chinese language at Peking University (1977-1982). He served as Coordinator of Literature and Publications for the Secretariat of Culture of the Government of Aragua State (Venezuela) from June 1992 to June 2001. He served as Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Venezuela in China from September 2001 to September 2008. Photographer, poet, short-story writer, chronicler, consultant on Chinese affairs, translator, editor, lecturer, monologue actor, cultural promoter, and visual artist.

Lawyer and Ph.D. in International Relations. Before resigning from the Venezuelan Foreign Affairs, he served as Ambassador to the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Chile, Ireland and Singapore. He was director of the Pedro Gual Institute of Higher Diplomatic Studies (IAEDPG by its acronyms in Spanish). He retired from the Simón Bolívar University where he was Associate Professor, having served as Director of the Center for North American Studies and Coordinator of the Institute for Advanced Latin American Studies. He has been a professor at the universities of Princeton, Barcelona and Brasilia; academic advisor of the Diplomatic Academy of London, Fulbright Scholar and, on two occasions, Resident Scholar of the Bellagio Center of the Rockefeller Foundation. Columnist for the newspaper El Universal and the Observatory of China Policy, among other publications. He is a member of the Iberoamerican Network of Sinology.
