In January 2016, current Chinese president Xi Jinping called on the Chinese Communist Party cadres and government officials to push for a \u201cnew development concept\u201d (\u65b0 \u53d1\u5c55 \u7406\u5ff5, x\u012bn f\u0101zh\u01cen l\u01d0ni\u00e0n), defined as a \u201csystematic theoretical system which answers a series of theoretical and practical questions about the purpose, motivation, mode, and path of development\u201d of the Chinese people. From there, the exhortation to build a new development concept has been recurrent in all the documents of the CCP and the Chinese government. Within this framework, this paper aims to analyze the main characteristics of this concept, recovering its context of emergence, its main features, the link with the \u201ccommon prosperity\u201d and \u201cdual circulation\u201d initiatives, and the importance it has for the current stage of China\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<\/div>

In January 2016, current Chinese president Xi Jinping called on the Chinese Communist Party cadres and government officials to push for a \u201cnew development concept\u201d (\u65b0 \u53d1\u5c55 \u7406\u5ff5, x\u012bn f\u0101zh\u01cen l\u01d0ni\u00e0n), defined as a \u201csystematic theoretical system which answers a series of theoretical and practical questions about the purpose, motivation, mode, and path of development\u201d of the Chinese people.
